Mr. Robert Danielak
Robert Danielak was born in New York and graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in English (2007) and a Master of Arts in English Literature with Distinction from California State University, Northridge (2011). His M.A. Thesis explored language and identity in contemporary Mexican American authors. Currently teaching ESL at Shepherd University, Mr. Danielak is also a Professor of English and English Literature at Humphrey’s College (Los Angeles) where he teaches and lectures on Intensive Grammar, British Literature and Shakespeare. In addition, his passion for writing has also taken him back to New York after graduation where he worked at several book publishers, one of them Hippocrene Books, Inc., on major memoir and non-fiction projects. In addition, while earning his M.A., Mr. Danielak worked with prolific Argentine-Armenian poet Alicia Ghiragossian and her non-profit human rights organization where he published his first book: Alicia G: The Poet-Philosopher of the New Millennium (2009) which explored Alicia’s unique brand of poetry and her literature that raises awareness of human rights abuses around the world. The link between writing and promoting positive social change is one of the cornerstones of his teaching philosophy. In the classroom, Mr. Danielak strives to instill his students with confidence in the Language Arts as well as with an appreciation for the flourishing uses of writing and literature in our individual lives and in our society today. Outside the classroom Mr. Danielak is constantly pursuing his passion as a working writer, which he finds makes for great life lessons for his students who also wish to work in creative fields.


Ms. Ellaine Taillandier
Ellaine Taillandier graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a B.A in Psychology and Business. She worked in the field of Human Resources for a large entertainment company until she made a major career change to move overseas and start teaching. She spent 2 1/2 years in Japan first teaching English to children and adults, and was then promoted to work in the Tokyo head office assisting with training new teachers and opening up new center branches. She then moved to France where she obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Picardie Jules Verne, and where she spent 8 years teaching English and Business in universities and private language schools throughout Paris and Amiens. She also managed an English language center where she was in charge of overseeing the instructional program and developing new curriculum. With over 12 years of experience teaching ESL to international students, Ellaine’s passion and enjoyment for teaching still continue to grow.


Ms. Judith Sullivan
Judith Sullivan graduated from the UCLA with a B.A. in Political Science. Her Junior year was spent at Sorbonne University and L’Institut de Sciences Politiques in Paris where she studied French Law and Politics.
Ms. Sullivan spent 15 years in Japan, first teaching English for Japan Airlines and later working in advertising and public relations at Dentsu Inc. and the Park Hyatt Tokyo. While living in Japan, she obtained the second highest rank of Japanese proficiency on the National Exam. She also received her TESOL certification through the Japan Times.
Inside the classroom, Ms. Sullivan is both passionate and patient and she utilizes the Communicative Approach to teaching ESL. She has a great deal of experience teaching all levels and Test Prep courses for public and private schools including the TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, GED, and the verbal sections of the GRE and GMAT. Ms. Sullivan has also helped dozens of students apply to private high schools, university and grad school.


Mr. Scott Saunders
With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, Scott Saunders has taught students at the elementary and high school level in addition to his many years of teaching ESL. Scott graduated from the University of San Francisco with a B.A. Earning a TESOL/TEFL certificate from the prestigious Oxford Seminar Program, Scott continually strives to design engaging lesson plans that appeal to all types of learners. His versatility as an ESL instructor is one of his greatest assets as he has accrued teaching experience at every level- from Beginner to Advanced ESL. Additionally, Scott has taught TOEFL and IELTS Prep courses during his ESL career. He has extensive experience developing curriculum for ESL courses, which has given him insights on how to best address students’ needs. Scott is currently pursuing a Multiple Subject Credential.


Mr. Arin Bezik
As a multilingual instructor, interpreter, translator, teacher trainer, and an applied linguist, Arin has worked in culturally diverse environments mainly as a language expert. He has a B.A. in English Translation and Interpreting from Mahinieh University, in Tehran, Iran. He has also earned a degree in MBA with emphasis on Sales and Marketing from Mahan Business School authorized by Management and Science University, Malaysia. He is currently furthering his education in TESL Master’s with Cal State University of Northridge. With well over 16 years of experience teaching EFL/ESL, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, and GMAT to a wide diversity of ethnicities and age groups in Middle East, Europe, and Southern California. He is currently teaching ESL and ESP courses at Shepherd University. In addition to teaching and training, Arin is a freelance researcher, investigating the benefits of “Voluntary Reading” on Vocabulary and Structure Acquisition.
